A conversation in class became a promise on the street.

Roamless Society didn't begin with a plan. It began with a question about who gets left behind, and a decision to go find out.

A classroom conversation about homelessness
It started as a discussion, not a plan. But it stayed with us long after class ended, and it turned into a decision to actually go find out what was happening on the street.
02Listening First

We didn't start with assumptions. We started with questions.

Before building anything, we asked the people living it what actually happened, and what they actually needed.

Interviews on the street, not assumptions from a distance
We interviewed people living on the streets about how they became homeless and what support, if any, had reached them. Most had once held jobs. Some held university degrees.
What we learned
Their answers, not our assumptions, set our direction
Homelessness wasn't the story we expected. It was a story about circumstances beyond anyone's control, and it reshaped everything we built next.
03The Idea That Didn't Work

Our first plan failed. We went back to the drawing board.

Not every idea survives contact with reality. This one didn't, and we're telling that part of the story too.

A workshop booth, researched and abandoned
We planned a workshop where people could make and sell merchandise. After visiting the area to test the idea, we concluded it wasn't feasible, and we didn't force it anyway.
04The Pivot

Direct aid, and a plan to build savings.

We shifted from a single idea to an ongoing practice: give people something real now, and help them build toward something more.

Goods to sell, profit split, and a lesson in saving
We started providing goods people could sell directly, returning 70% of profit to them while keeping 30% to sustain the program, alongside conversations about saving.

Lunch boxes and daily necessities, delivered directly
We distributed lunch boxes and daily necessities to people in Suan Luang, one of the areas where our research began.
05Raising Our Voice

We talked about it publicly. Then we raised funds for it.

Awareness came first. The money followed once people understood what it was actually for.

A school assembly talk on the realities of homelessness
Before asking anyone for money, we asked for their attention. We gave a talk about what we'd actually seen and learned, not a pitch.

Funds went straight back to continued aid
Every baht raised funded continued aid in the same community where our research began, not overhead or new merchandise ideas.
06Beyond Bangkok

Need doesn't stop at a city's edge. Neither did we.

When disaster struck somewhere else, we didn't sit on what we'd raised.

Redirecting funds to flood relief in Chiang Rai
When flooding hit Chiang Rai, we redirected a quarter of our raised funds to relief efforts there, because the mission is about need, not geography.
07Investing in Children

Education is aid too. We started treating it that way.

Partnering with a local team, we brought lessons, meals, and a place to play to children who needed all three.

Partnering with Food for All
We brought English lessons, meals, and a new playground slide to local Thai schools, working alongside a team who already knew the community.

The next chapter is being written by whoever joins next.

We're a small team that grew out of one classroom conversation. If you want to help research, plan, raise funds, or simply show up, there's a place for you.
